A labrador that ate a beehive containing pesticides and thousands of dead bees won an award that recognised the most unusual pet health insurance claim in the United States. Ellie, who fully recovered from her encounter with the beehive in southern California, beat a border collie that ran through a window to get at a postman, and a terrier that bit a chainsaw.

She won a bronze trophy in the shape of a ham, and a basket of toys and doggie treats. All three hungry dogs have recovered after receiving veterinary care.

September 4, 2010 - 2:28 am No Comments

Until very recently, investors only could look for guidance from certain tax court decisions that were handed down. Fortunately, exchangors no longer have to rely on the educated guesses of their advisors on 1031 reverse exchange rules about how to properly structure their reverse 1031 exchange transactions. Rules and guidelines have been established are basically as follows:

First, the reverse exchange must involve an Exchange Accommodation Titleholder (EAT). The EAT is an independent third party that holds, or parks, the Exchangor’s Replacement Property following or prior to the exchange period. The EAT must have a qualified indicia of ownership at all times from the date of acquisition until transfer.

There are several types of reverse exchanges. The Safe-Harbor Reverse is an exchange whereby the EAT parks the replacement property prior to the sale of the old property.

An

injury compensation claim

is a common procedure for those who have been unfortunate to suffer the consequences of a personal injury and know only too well the life-altering effects it can have. Things that used to be simple tasks are now major obstacles, the simple pleasures of life seem to be slipping away and everyday is a struggle just to get through.

Work is no longer an option, along with all the activities you use to enjoy. If this sounds like the situation you or a loved one is currently in, then considering an injury compensation claim can make all the difference in the world.

You’re Not Alone In The Struggle

Every year, thousands of people struggle to cope with serious personal injury, with many of them not realising the compensation they deserve.

Once injured, many people tend to hide away and refuse to acknowledge the damage that has been inflicted on their body. Not coming to terms with an accident injury is one of the most dangerous things a person can do.

After all, if the negotiation works

September 3, 2010 - 7:22 pm No Comments

After all, if the negotiation works out, you will be working for the company, so don?t burn any bridges before you start orientation.

A couple of key tips:

–Do not personalize conflict. It is important to remember that you and the employer have different interests and that negotiation is a give-and-take process.

–Always be tactful and diplomatic.

–Persuade rather than coerce.

–Establish a common ground for agreement.

–Remain objective and focused on your priorities.

–Clearly describe the benefits of your proposal.

–Be persistent, but know when to let go and when to walk away.

Finally, be flexible in your negotiations. If you sense that an employer is making you the best possible offer based on available financial resources, considering negotiating for a better benefits package as an alternative.

In conclusion, by taking a close look at your unique skills and understanding their value in the current market, you are better prepared to approaching salary negotiation as a mutually beneficial discussion between you and the employer.

One way to run your small mobile oil change business is to go after the customers who are employees at large corporations. This works well, although can be problematic if you do not set up the way you do business and maintain the schedule properly in advance. But one new comer to the industry writes to ask me a question on the business model and this type of potential customer.

Here is the question that our business analyst and future mobile oil change entrepreneur asks; “One thing I can certainly state is that…you or none of your competitors have gone after the nickel and dime biz by concentrating on the large employer populations?? Both here in Ohio and my son out in Las Vegas find that such ops. do not target John & Jane Doe’s cars while at work for servicing…why is that? Cost prohibitive…liability lack of employer interest? Hell, I’d sell the ownership on packaging the service as a Benefit…and under WE care about our employees”

Incorrect, as indeed there is much competition in mobile change business at Corporate Offices.

Once the design is finalized, a stencil or guide can be printed out and used for punch cutting.

Other tools are available to punch cutting craftsmen if the computer is not an option when creating tin works of arts. Special pieces of cloths and papers can be used to test out design templates that would be used for punch cutting beforehand. The artist would shift around his punch cutter so that whatever letters or words that would be part of the final design would form properly. This design and testing process takes some time and a lot of patience. Quite a bit of artistic skill is needed too so that is why more people prefer to purchase punched tin rather than create it themselves.

Purchasing punched tin is not that expensive. Industrially produced punched tin artwork offer a wide range of choices at a low price since tin itself is really cheap.

Then the user should use the calculator one time quickly to determine just what information he or she will need to enter and what the resulting information might provide. Then the next step would be to gather the information that the retirement calculator is going to ask for. This helps give accurate results that can be relied on for retirement planning. The instructions for using the retirement calculator should be read and reread until thoroughly understood before being used.

When online the GIGO concept applies to retirement calculators too. If the user doesn?t give accurate information he or she doesn?t get accurate information back. Once the results are displayed printing out the results for safekeeping is helpful. It?s possible to run through several different scenarios to determine the best retirement plan and results.

How often do

September 2, 2010 - 7:54 pm No Comments

How often do we give up on ourselves (or another human being) assuming we have tried everything when the next combination or new possibility is just waiting for us to see it?

Habits can ensnare us in a straitjacket of comfort, reassuring us that we know what we like, we know who we are. It isn’t that we just need to “stay open” or “try new things”. It is much more critical than that. We need to keep discovering, until the day we die, all the possible ways to do and to be.

Each day ask yourself, “What can I do today that I’ve never done before?” and “What one thing could I do differently today?”

AND / OR

Ask yourself, “What area of my life feels most comfortable and settled
and familiar?” Do that part of your life differently, even the slightest bit.

AND

Each week, schedule an hour or two for an adventure date. You might experiment Sunday morning with eating miso soup and fish for breakfast to see how that makes you feel for the day. You might try working the night shift so you can paint in the afternoon light.
